Chai & Orange Spice Mix

The inviting, warming chai spices are an amazing food tool to have on hand for all your baking needs. Perfect for bakes, frostings and oatmeal.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 tsp cardamom ground
  • 4 tsp allspice ground
  • 4 tsp nutmeg freshly grated
  • 8 tsp cinnamon ground
  • 4 tsp cloves ground
  • 12 tsp ginger ground
  • 2 each naval oranges cleaned and peel removed

  • Oven
  • Chef knife
  • Cutting Board

Method
 

  1. Thoroughly clean oranges and dry. Carefully remove peel from oranges, eliminating the white pith close to the peel, and place in a still oven (no heat), for 2-3 days until peels are completely dried out.
  2. Using a spice grinder, add peels and pulverize until a powder.
  3. Combine all ingredients together. Store in an airtight container and use in your favorite baked applications.
