Blood Orange & Shallot Vinaigrette
I love vinaigrettes! Lightly coated greens tossed with a simple flavors, complimenting a season of salads. It’s so easy to eat healthy with a really great vinaigrette. I particularly love this dressing because of the seasonality of the blood oranges. Fall graciously approaches along with hearty greens and the beautiful blood orange. The unique color and flavor of the blood orange is a thing of beauty! I have linked a year-round supplier since they are difficult to find even in the height of the Fall season.
There are so many recipe applications for this particular vinaigrette. I use it as a marinade, as a dressing for hearty Fall salads, as a condiment for seasonal wraps (Autumn Turkey Club Wrap) and so much more. Besides using the juice and the zest, segmenting the oranges and using them as garnish or just eat as a special treat, is phenomenal.
Use this vinaigrette as a dipping sauce for grilled breads and even as a drizzle over fresh farm cheese. There is so much room to play! Once emulsified, I put the vinaigrette in fun jars and display and use as needed. This dressing is also great to give as a gift. Mostly, gift yourself with one of the best vinaigrettes. Create miles of smiles with this delicious and healthy dressing!
