Chai & Orange Spice Mix
One of my most cherished flavor favorites is the warmth of chai spices. Since I was first introduced to organic chai concentrate years ago, I have been smitten. I have absolutely loved experimenting with chai flavorings in a multitude of different food scenarios. I first played with my chai mix when I was making cupcakes. Chai tea is certainly amazing on it’s own. And I love cupcakes! Combine the two amazing foods and I was twice enthralled!
Again, I kept playing with my food. I took an orange and carefully peeled it away from the pith. I dried out the orange peels in my still oven for two days then used my spice grinder to powder the orange peel. I added it to my special chai spice mix and voila! If peeling and drying out your orange peels is too time consuming for you, you can use this organic orange product which will give you immediate results. I created chai spiced oatmeal; chai spiced granola; chai spiced pumpkin pie. I couldn’t stop! I found this amazing spice mix making its way into frostings, especially brown butter frosting, and sprinkled as a topping.
So now, I will share this simple, food influencer with you. I make a big batch of this and keep it on hand to use in my baking or even with my coffee grinds in the morning. The orange zest adds just the perfect hint of amazing to everything it touches. I have even used this spice partnered with dark chocolate in my scone productions as well as a rub for pork tenderloin. Play!
